Skypost X Sequential Sampler for Atmospheric Particulate Matter

SKYPOST X is the evolution of the established and long manufactured SKYPOST PM FX.

SKYPOST Xis an automatic outdoor Sampler for particulate monitoring using 47mm diameter filter membrane.

The sequential filter exchange system of the filter membranes with up to 32 filter holders storage capacity, and the electronic flow rate controller, allow continuous, unattended operations up one month, as well as an easy replacement of the exposed filters without sampling stand-by.

SKYPOST X flow range is 5 to 60 L/min and is suitable for dust sampling with LVS PM10 2.3 m3/h sampling head and LVS PM2.5 2.3 m3/h sampling head, according to EN12341:2023. LVS PM1 2.3 m3/h sampling head is also possible.

The new flow control system is composed by a venturi flow sensor as measure device (accuracy better than 2%) and a pump speed control system to regulate the sampling flow. Adopting this new concept the MTBF has been strongly improved. This means very low maintenance especially with 24/7 running time!

The modularity of the sampling head positioning allows to use the USEPA 40, CFR Part 50 sampling head as well.

The completely straight suction tube with its round shape and the separation of the storage filter zone from internal and radiant source of heat, allow to collect and keep the integrity of the pollutants accumulated.

Data Management System

Skypost X has a new data management system with the following features:

  • Continuous sampling data storage of all parameters in the internal memory
  • Min., max and average values of all the measured data
  • Alarm management
  • Data download via USB, wifi app, bluetooth
  • Data export into TXT format file (imported from excel and other spreadsheet program)
  • MODEM for data download and sampler control. For any alarm an email or sms is sent to the end user in order to verify the reason and
    act accordingly.

Filter X Cooler Technology

FilterX – Cooler is the cooling system for sampled filters storage of SKYPOST X, designed according to EN12341:2023 requirements.
FilterX – Cooler, technology thanks to its smart temperature control gives an optimal protection of sampled filters avoiding their exposition to heat and to water condensation.

Outdoor Station for Continuous Particulate Monitoring

Skypost PM FX has a sequential substitution system of the filtering membrane with 16 membranes capacity. With its electronic flow rate controller, the Skypost PM FX allows continuous, unattended operations as well as easy replacement of the exposed filters without interrupting the sampling.

Skypost PM FX has up to 50 l/min flow rate capacity and is suitable for dust sampling with LVS PM10 2.3 m3/h sampling head and LVS PM2.5 2.3 m3/h sampling head, according to EN12341:2014 norm.

The modularity of the sampling head allows use of the US EPA 40, CFR Part 50 sampling head as well.

The completely straight suction tube with its round shape and the separation of the storage filter zone from internal and radiant sources of heat, allows collection of and preserves the integrity of the pollutants.

A ventilation and differential thermo-regulated heating system allows the instrument to operate even in extreme ambient conditions.

Construction

Skypost PM FX is a standalone sampler built into a weatherproof cabinet for the most extreme outdoor conditions.

A test made by an ISO 17025 certified lab showed its ability to work with external temperature form -20°C to 50°C.

Data management

Skypost PM FX has a new data management system with following features:

  • Continuous sampling data storage
  • Min., max and average values of all the measured data
  • Alarm management
  • Data download via USB and Ethernet cable
  • Data export into Excel files.

Filter X Technology

The Filter X cooling system for sampled filters reservoir of Skypost is designed according to EN12341:2014 requirements.

Its ability to maintain filters below 23°C with external temperature up to 50°C has been tested by an independent ISO17025 certified lab

DECS – Dioxin Emission Continuous Sampling – is a fixed system for Dioxins sampling of Stack emissions. DECS is an automatic sampling system, realized for permanent installation on stacks, dedicated to “long term” Dioxins and Furans collection (PCDD/PCDF) and other POP’s.

The sample is taken by means of a heated probe and a particulate filter, also heated, after which it is rapidly cooled and percolated through an adsorbent vial filled with XAD-2 resin.

Sampling takes place completely automatically and respecting the isokinetic conditions.

DECS® allows you to extend the duration of sampling to collect a larger amount of sample to be analyzed, improve the characterization of real emissions, increase toxicological information, have a reliable emission footprint.

The DECS® comprises 2 units:
• Sampling Unit
• Control Unit.

Dioxin Emission Continuous Sampler Features

  • Sampling of PAH’s with Filter/Condenser Method and adsorbing trap on the wet gas in accordance with Standards EN 1948-1, CEN/TS 1948-5 and US EPA Method 23.
  • The Control Unit can manage up to 4 Sampling Units
  • Distance between Sampling and Control Units can be up to 100mt

Flowtest ST is the TCR Tecora Digital Stack Gas Velocity and Flow Meter.
The precision-measuring, data logger model Flowtest ST is dedicated to gas velocity, volumetric flow rate determination, and isokinetic measurements in stack.

The instrument is housed in a compact and lightweight case; easy to set up and operate. It measures the gas velocity and temperature through a Pitot tube and a thermocouple.
It provides instantaneous calculation of the fluid-dynamic parameters displaying specified parameters on a wide alphanumeric display.
An easy to use auto-guided program is provided for the following measurements:

  • Continuous measurement
  • Flow rate measurement
  • Isokinetic sampling
  • Constant flow sampling.

The measuring probe sits in temperature and corrosion proof AISI 316 stainless steel.
It incorporates an “S” type Pitot tube and a thermocouple, that are protected and kept together by a graduated tube of 700 or 1300 mm standard useful length.
